Exciting image, Arash. Lovely wing position, colors, sharpness. Even the slight hint of clouds in the blue sky adds to it.

Seriously good. Even the underwing is well lit. Nothing to criticise.

Beautiful Arash. Love the lighting, angle, wing position and detail. One thing - the eye catch looks odd, almost like it is a hole through the head to the sky behind!

I like the way the light is shining on the near wing. What ISO were you shooting at? Great flight direction ie. towards you. Razor sharp. Nice BG

Remarkable that such clarity can be achieved at iso1600...another reason for going full-frame...lovely shot, by the way...

Thanks. 1D4 is actually not a FF camera (it's 1.3 crop APS-H) but it performs much better at high ISO compared to say a 7D for conditions like this... I am looking forward to the new FF 1DX :)

Nice image and IQ is great at iso 1600. BTW you guide was an interesting read and I have taken some images at high ISO's in order to practice your methods. I found the part about conversion of high iso RAW files in the canon software interesting.

Thanks Tom! glad you liked it, all of the high ISO images I post here are processed using the same method. Even with the 1D4 or 5D2 you need good processing and good NR to get best results. Hope you can post some of your images soon.

Of course! You're quite right! I'd heard that it's a 1.3 crop...what was I thinking? Don't get me started on the 7D's noisy ways...a topic we're all sick to death of, I'm quite sure...

Another nice one Arash, although not my favorite wing position.
Is your noise manual only for Canon bodies?

Hi Dan, yup only for Canon. I am working on one for Nikon right now (although if you have a D700/D3/D3S those bodies don't require much noise reduction to begin with)...

Sure I do like it!

The warm light, wings held up and sharpness are excellent here. (it looks a lot better on the larger version, so thanks for that)

I did a linear curve, just tad more contrast.
