Mark IV
f 4.0 500mm with 1.4 extender
ISO 800
SS 1/3200
F 7.1
Manual
Full frame with 10% off the top of the original and 10% canvas added on the bottom. Rotated as well to straighten horizon
On tripod
I wish I had more space all around ,but this guy came out of nowhere about 15 feet away from me. Frankly I'm pleased I didn't cut anything off! The orange is a rusted train trellis on the far side of Ball's Creek.
Comments and critiques always learned from and appreciated with thanks,
Gail

Light, IQ and details are top notch. Great job getting him entirely in the frame.

Wow, you really nailed this one Gail. Your reflexes must be in top form. Those Cape Breton eagles are an endless source of entertainment! Nice sharp eye and I really like the diving pose. Excellent detail in feathers.

Excellent exposure and sharpness, you got the whites right. I wish for a more dynamic wing position

Nice and sharp, Gail. The EXP looks good. Agree on your own assessment for a bit more room but this was a great to get it all in the frame.

Hi Gail, this is really in your face, and well done for getting him in the frame. Good sharp detail where it counts, and overall well exposed. I like the close up view of the beak. I agree, the BG is not the best, but sometimes grab shots are like that - no time for anything. :w3

Me too Arash. But if he had wings up or down I would have clipped the wings.

That's why you don't need the TC for large birds flying at close range :w3

Beautiful details and exposure Gail. I like how you softened the shadow line on the near wing.
