These are the stamen of Meadow Cranesbill (Geranium pratense). I liked the different shades of blue, the abstract feel created by the shallow DOF and the interplay of the stamen heads. This flower is called a Cranesbill because the fruits resemble a birds bill (in Dutch its called a storkbill).

Hi Jerry. I like the abstract quality of this one along with the cool colors and the way the stamen heads seem to be floating in space. Very nicely done!

There's a lot I like about this one Jerry. You're right...the color is delicious! I also like the swirling pattern of the stamen. I do find myself wishing the heads were all a bit more in focus and that the stem was either all in (but softly diffused) or all out.

thanks for your comments! Julie, I see your point about the stem. I'll try and see if I can clone it out.

Hey Jerry,
I agree with Jules.....and will add...a bit more seperation would be nice.

Hey Jerry, this one has been covered so I'll just say I agree that a little more DOF and no stem would take this one way up, IMHO. :S3:
