When we have below-zero (F) temperatures here, frost crystals form on my sunroom windows and make interesting photo subjects as each is unique. I was processing this one in CS5, Nik Viveza 2 and Color Efex Pro 4 to increase contrast (black background/white crystal), but wasn't satisfied with the look I was getting. Almost by accident, I tried the Negative (RGB) preset in Curves and thought the different look was intriguing. This was followed by a B&W conversion and addition of a blue tint. 5D II, MP-E 65mm at about 2X, 1.3 sec, f/8, ISO 100, tripod, RRS focus rail, mirror lock, cable release. This is a focus stack of two images in Zerene Stacker. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

I enjoy your frost images, Steve. The cool blue adds to the effects. You did very well with the amazingly shallow DOF. Well done!

This is sweet Steve. It feels wet as if melting in the sun
