Black-fronted Dotterel (Elseyornis melanops) Myers Tank Sturt NP NSW

Found throughout most Australia this Dotterel will be encountered on most birding trips. This image however was taken at Sturt NP which is remote area National Park situated where New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia boundaries join and is an arid land region best visited from April through to October. Best traversed by 4 WD but can be done with 2 WD and a 1300 klm drive north-west from Sydney NSW. The park offers a true outback experience and is large at 340000 hectares (= 840158 acres).
