Taken from a zodiac while bobbing up and down on the surf. I have several with colorful crabs on the rocks in the frame, but I picked this one for its simplicity. Interested in any comments, particularly crop (which is minimal) and PP.

Rhys:

I like the angled surf in the background because it plays well with the birds head angle. Overall I like the framing, wish for a sliver more on the right if available (prob. not from your comments)

Good detail in the darker feathers, some of the whites look a bit hot, losing detail.

I would try sharpening the bill a bit more, as it is not quite as sharp as the face. (DOF issue probably)

Wish the shadow on the eye wasn't quite so pronounced.

Look forward to more.

Cheers

Randy

Hi Rhys, he looks very relaxed, and you have done well with the exposure of the blacks. I agree adding a bit to the right will work, and I would try and lighten the eye a little.
