The only owl I could manage to sight in Africa . This was shot on the last day when I was winding up and heading back to the airport . Saw it nearby out in the open and was thrilled to get atleast one species of owl.
Camera : Canon 1D MK III
Lens : Canon 600mm f4 IS
Aperture : f 9
Shutters : 1/1000
Speed : ISO 800

excellent image bhai,
the calling pose makes it . felt gone way too left. slight moving to right would be nice and cropping some from top too.
white feathers seem hot can be toned down rest a superb image, i really love to see one in wild :)

Hi Rakesh, I live in Africa permanently, I dont have a single owl image :e3 Well timed to get the calling pose or yawn, and I like the layers of feathers captured on the chest. I would try and lighten the head a little more, and see what you can get out of the tail. :w3

Good one Rakesh, love the pose. A little place on the left would add a lot more to the image.

Thanks for posting this, which brings back happy memeories of a characteristic sound of Africa (at least in the places I have been). I like the position of the bird in the frame: it leaves space for the headline!
