Snow and Ross's geese from Hagerman wildlife refuge. Not easy to get close and low at this location as birds are more used to cars than people. Saw this group on the right side. parked my car and got out from the driver's side(away from the geese), then crawled around and went flat in the shadow of the car(which was long allowing me to creep closer). Birds were very relaxed....hence there was no pattern. Another car came by and they became alert and starting walking. that gave me the moment.

40D. 400 f5.6L at f/9. iso 320. 1/1600s. manual exposure. some minor cleanup done in water. I have cropped this tight. I find these always tough to crop. I'll post the orig and you can take a shot at cropping/ cloning etc. Dont upsize it as IQ will quickly go down.

Definately a challenge and I like what Jonathan did with perhaps a little tweaking on the canvas biulding right side. Oh and the rotation as well.

It surely is a challenge getting right composition out of this but Jonathan did great in his post.and yes needs slight rotation. I tried my hand at this one quickly with new and faster m/c:-) Added some more space on front and very slight on back and could not get rotation correct so left it as is.

Nice little flock you got there, Kaustubh. Almost half of them are Ross's Geese, my favorite ones. I like the original, it looks more natural to me.

Wonderful shot. Love the light, exposed very well, I really like the habitat, and I think any of the crops presented work well.
Well done.
