the moon was high enough in the sky and the rising sun lit the rock face so I could run around and position myself to make this image.

Well thought out, Steve. I always wish the moon was larger in the frame but impossible with a wide angle, and in this case it's just large enough for the "frame" you chose for it. :t3
What I have done sometimes done is take a shot of the moon with a telephoto at the same time and blend it back in, just a thought for experimentation later :w3.

It does seem that the file can stand some more finite sharpening as presented?

Hi Steve, if you crop out half the sky it will accentuate the moon. Nice light and formation...

Thanks for the comments. The print at 20x30 is tack sharp, I need to work on making web sized shots look as good as the prints.
The idea of cropping half the sky did not occur to me. thanks for the suggestion. The day was an amazing day with low clouds, fog and then clear skies. It was a fun visit.

I agree with Dave, crop some sky out. As mentioned, JPG sharpness needs some work.
