Because I can't remember its name! Playing around with my BIL's macro lens and ring flash after our Christmas lunch, I photographed a few of his collector's plants. I haven't done much macro but thought it would be fun to post something. Processed in with Color Efex 4 Tonal contrast with 2 textures over the top. The flower is about 2 inches long. Hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Hillary, I like this a lot. Nicely framed, with warm textured colors. The off-center leaning green "whatcha-ma-call-it" adds interest. Nicely done.

Very nice work. The darker edges keep my eyes right where they need to be and highlight the flower. Glad you shared.

Hilary, The way you chose to present this is lovely. It looks like a Calla Lily but then again it doesn't.:S3: Nice work with the textured background and mood.

Thank you everyone for your comments, I'm glad that you liked it.

For your information, it is an Arisaema candidissimum, and is very small. My brother in law has an amazing collection of rare bulbs, some of which he collected himself in China.

Very interesting shape to this, nice details, Hilary. Lighting and textures with dark vignette give some drama & mood to it. For some reason the outline shape reminds me a little bit of someone crossing their arms, and the stamen does add interest. Keeps you curious & wondering, which I like.

Brendan, I hadn't thought about the crossed arms until you mentioned something. But you are right! Thanks.

Hilary, very interesting! I too saw this as a sculpture of a man in robe and crossed hand! I like the colors and the bg. Excellent composition as usual!
