Canon 7D
F 10:Whoa!: I have no idea why!
SS 1/800
ISO 800
Taken at ~ 5:00 PM
Big crop of 40%
Aperture priority EV +1
PP in LR3 and NR and sharpening in CS5. I ran NR twice on BG but I think it is haze from heat. It was well over 35 Celsius this day.
Comments and critiques always learned from and appreciated with thanks,
Gail

Gail, really nice and sharp, esp given 1/800. Color of the sky and what you've inluded at the bottom give the image some dimension. I keep wanting to see the bird higher in the frame, so I think a crop from above might be something to consider. I hesitate to say this, because it is totally out of your control and is part of nature, but I'm not in love with the tattered wing and is he missing a tail feather? Never the less, you did a great job of capturing this colorful beauty in flight.

Happy holidays to you and yours as well. I've certainly enjoyed your posts this past year and look forward to many more in 2012.

Amazing how sharp at that SS, indeed! Beautiful colors on that bird. Nice wing position and separation from BG. Like the comp too. Nice job, Gail!

very nice Gail, I'd like to crop tighter to show the details better.

Nice, and f10 worked fine. The IQ looks like it could go larger in the frame as the bird is sharp as can be.
A very attractive bird.

Very nice indeed Gail, I think you nailed it. Maybe it will stand a tad more crop.
