Hi Gail, tack sharp with a great take off pose with the raised wings. Colours look spot on, and the heron stands out nicely against the sky BG.

Gail you nailed the exposure and the timing - super shot. I may be tempted to add just a little more on the right.

Gail,
IMHO , perfect as is. Timing, detail, comp. and exposure all come together to create a wonderful capture. Good call on adding the canvas.

Great timing and pose. Love the dangling feet. Colours and light look good. I only wish the head was angled a bit more towards us.
I bet you were happy photographing a heron other than a Great Blue!!:t3

Great job, Gail. Like the comp a lot, and the lines of the pose are wonderful. What a cool stripe on that neck!

Great looking heron and nicely captured and composed, Gail. Like the pose, details, and neutral BG works well.

Great shot ,Gail ! I like the wing - up position, in good light. These herons are notoriously difficult to capture well in this posture ,since many shots result in a dark/black underwing if the posture and light is not quite right.
You shot this image at the right daytime and good angle.Excellent!
