It was still early in the morning as the heavy fog broke up in the Tetons, and revealed this buck and rail fence sitting among the sage brush. Full frame, no adjustment other temperature adjustment, and resizing.

This is really good, Mike, nicely composed. Great soft morning light, like the FG, plant textures, receding fence line. The remnants of the fog create a nice natural softening/muting filter on the trees. Looks like a painting without any major processing or filters. Nice work.

I like how you position the fence in the image - great leading line.

I was wondering how (a) opening up the FG shadows would look and (b) more contrast to add some snap - but still have that foggy look.

Below I use PSCS5, Shadow/Highlight adjustment for (a) and local contrast enhancement for (b).
