Taken a few seconds before the stalk photo.
They look a lot more menacing than they behave.
Trying to intimidate. A nice winter coat for a part of the country that rarely gets below freezing!

Dan,

Looking at this on here it looks like it needs a tad more sharpening, but opening it in PS it is perfectly sharp, I am at a loss to understand it.

I like this more than the earlier post, perhaps a tad more contrast?

Dan,

Great light on the animal (It may have been in a previous post, but please mention species each time). I think a tad more sharpening is needed as Ken mentioned.

I also did a tighter crop in a ROT with the center of the eyes as a power point. Yes it is now a square crop - but when it works, it works as it does here IMO.

Ken and Robert, thanks, Robert, I do like the re-post.
As far as the sharpening, the original is sharp as a tack, I worried about over sharpening and "crisping" the fur.
I don't know, I could only save at 70, so it could be a downsizing issue.
It is a North American Coyote.

Dan, beautiful light on a gorgeous subject. I really like the modeling that results from the light coming in at an angle. You captured some great eye contact. The grass provides a very nice foundation, and I like the fact that so much of the grass is reasonably sharp. The colors in the OOF background complement the subject well. The light area in the background (right center) is just a bit distracting. The repost is pleasing to my eye.

Dan - nice light and pose. Robert's repost takes this to another level.

Lovely light and angle here, and I do like Robert's reposted crop but also didn't mind you OP as posted
