Had a great time photographing sone pretty nice bucks during the rut down here. It was the first major shoot with D7000, it seems to perform pretty well.

D7000, 400 2.8, 1/1000, f4, iso800, man exp

Thanks for looking, comments and critiques appreciated.

Dandy buck Todd. Like the view. Out of focus vegetation makes this interesting for me.

This is a great example Todd where the OOF grass really puts the viewer in your shoes, a fine specimen, very nice indeed.

Nice to see you posting again Todd. Good lucking buck here and I like the degree of OOF grasses (can still see some legs). Also like the reddish trees in the BG. They provide a nice color contrast.

Cool image, Just enough in focus, and the colors are muted and pleasant.

Hi Todd,
I am the odd woman out here because I find the OOF doe distracting. The buck is gorgeous though and I like how the OOF grasses frame him. Great colors in the BG,
Gail

Hi Todd - unfortunately I agree with Gail. My first thought was that I wish the doe was in focus too. I agree about the colors and the buck but for me the oof doe detracts from the image.

I always tend to like OOF animals in the shot more than most...and this is no exception...
Lovely low angle here, as mentioned it puts you "right there"...:5

And yes, good to see you posting again. Would be interested in your ongoing thoughts on the D7000, I have enjoyed mine and it has proved quite a bit of camera for the buck! :bg3:

Thanks for the comments everyone. Gail and Rachel, no worries on not liking the oof doe. Differing opinions is what makes the world go around. Morkel, so far I am enjoying the D7000 and yes I don't think you can beat the dollar value with this camera. Was waiting for the new bodies but decided to grab this just before the price stabilization went into place so I saved a few bucks. Glad I did :bg3:.
