Sleepy time

Another look at a Screech Owl I posted a flash photo of a few weeks back.
He is there all the time. This is a no flash photo, handheld in the dark woods at 1/25!
He still won't wake up, but I liked the look of this tiny Owl without a flash.

I like the comp with the surrounding leaves. I wish for more room on bottom for the virtual tail.

Hi Dan, lovely setting showing where he likes to sleep, and framed nicely between the foliage. With that slightly open eye, I believe he was aware of your presence. Good detail for 1/25 ss, and agree leaving a touch more space below will work.

I think this is a really sweet shot, and the eye being a bit open makes it. Beautiful patterning in those feathers, served well by the soft light.

This is so nice Dan. I really like how the branches frame the bird. It is nice to have a different POV as well. Most owl tree shots are looking up at the bird not down,
