One of those birds nobody bothers to photograph :-) things were rather slow on the pond so I decided to focus on these birds that were hopping nearby. positioned myself for good light and BG. Dialed in iso 640 as I was planning on freezing the walking pose. Fortunately this one one hopped by with right angle in the sweet spot. almost full frame.

You really did catch it in the sweet spot. Very well thought out and executed. Nice to see the little foot up in the air and lovely color combination.

Couldn't agree more , Kaustubh, that we often bypass species and yet when we do notice them pleasant surprises occur as here !! Like the gradation in back ground which adds so much to the action well caught. Presentation spot on.

I like this image! I find the pose of the bird is very pleasing. The head angle and raised foot make the image for me. The bird is sharp and ell exposed in my opinion. The low angle of capture and the background are also pleasant. Nicely done!

Wonderful brown tones in this one. I think "ordinary birds" can look stunning too and you did well capturing this one. Love that low angle.

Beautiful image Kaustubh. Blue part of BG is perfectly placed - no accident I am sure. Love the low angle, complimentary colours and great techs.

Dirt bird or not, I love it. Kudos on making a piece of art out of a common bird. Killer perspective, light, SH, and BKGR. An excellent example for the boys and girls.

Very nice, we don't have these where I live, so they are not dirt birds to me.
Pretty, I think, and a nice look at one.

I agree but it would need a bit of CW rotation though.

I agree but it would need a bit of CW rotation though.

Looks to me more like a small hill of grass in front of the bird rather than a need for rotation; note that the far bank is perfectly level :S3:.
