Hi Gail, well timed to capture the raised wings, not sure if the skimmer has just landed or about to take off. Overall, well exposed on the skimmer, sharp, and pretty light for 7.00PM. I would crop a touch off the top to eliminate the thin dark band running along the top. Maybe moving the skimmer back a little more to the right will work too.

Hi Stuart,
This guy was landing. I double checked on the time of the shot and you are right- it is too light for that time of day. Image was taken at 5:36PM not 7:00PM. Boy, you sure know your African light! Good suggestions about the crop as I missed that line at the top. Sorry about the time error,
Gail

Gail, I also like the repost more. nice pose, light and head turn. Catchlight is so critical for skimmers. well done.

Stuart's suggestions applied made this one fine image. great to get the wings up like you did. Adds alot of drama to the image.

Sweet image Gail. I love the light. Note to file - never lie about times when on Stuart's turf :t3. The new crop raised this one a notch.

I really like the nice warm light and pose. Well exposed and nice and sharp. The two little crops made a very nice difference.
