Canon EOS 7D Lens 400mm L USM ISO800 F8.0 1/800 flash 9 September 2011
The Brown Falcon occurs Australia wide and into Papua New Guinea. It varies in colour throughout its range and the darker phases can be confused with the Black Falcon, however it would be a common sighting on visiting most areas in Australia. Birds in Backyards' Fact Sheet at :
http://birdsinbackyards.net/species/Falco-berigora gives a fuller account. Only managed two quick images of this fine specimen before it flew.

Grat detail. I like the way the wing and tail feathers cross making a cool design. I like the perch as well.
