Great to get the pair. Light angle is a bit off leaving part of the left side of each bird a bit in shadow. You can open those areas up in a variety of ways. Best would be Tim Grey's non-destructive Dodge and Burn as described in Digital Basics (https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=252). I used that technique on Jon's excellent buzzard just above. Do you have the rest of the head reflections?

Dan:
Nice job capturing both in about the same plane. Although I often like the light angle off a bit to add some shadow detail, I do wish I could see the eye better on the left bird.
Nice matching poses, well exposed.
Will be interesting to see your rework if you choose to do so.
Cheers

nice low angle Dan, I agree with Artie that off-axis light is working against you here especially for the one on the left of us. the head of the right ducks seems a bit soft you may want to try sharpening it...
overall I like the duck shots more when the whole body is parallel to the back of the camera. TFS

Dan, I like the similar swimming poses, and I agree with Arash regarding sharpening the right hand duck's head.
