One of the acrobatic eagles just starting its dive during the Homer IPT last March. They are sure fun to watch! Used a little shadow and highlights, slight yellow saturation for beak and feet, and a bit of Topaz filter for detail. Used QM to eliminate an OOF eagle in the LR corner. Cropped and sharpened. I'm not a fan of square crops, but am having trouble finding a better aspect ratio for this image. C & C appreciated!

Mike:

A very dramatic, intense pose. You were able to tease out lots of detail in the darks while keeping great detail in the whites.

Some shapes of the subject really do fit best in a square crop, and I can't imagine anyone would find this one a static image!

You could try adding a modest amount of free space below, and 1/2 of that to the left side, which would make it a little less square, give him a little more room to fly into, without having too much negative space, but I am perfectly fine with it as posted.

Cheers

Randy

PS: By the way, which Topaz filter did you use?

Amazing shot terrific pose, love the detail in the image, I think the composition is good, the wings going more or less along the diagonal.

Great impact and great capture !! Mike !! Apology for the square format unnecessary not everything is suited to 3X2.
Very well done.

Randy, thanks for the feedback. The Topaz plug-in I used was Adjust 5. I believe that I used a slight modification (to tone down the effect) of the Detail - Medium preset.
