Hello everyone. Here is another shot of a coot I was able to captured before the sun went down.
C&C welcomed and encouraged.
Camera - NIkon 300s, Lense - Nikon - 200-400 w/1.4tc, Exposure - 1/640, Aperture - F8, ISO - 500, Focal Length - 840mm, Metering - Multi Segment, Manual.

Exp looks good, the detail on the chest and face is there but the beak looks soft...Lack of DOF, I would tighten in the crop from the left and top as i feel there is too much open space...Nice colors!

Very well exposed, as these guys are a challenge with bone white bill and dark grey plumage.

As Dumay mentioned, I could see a bit tighter crop. For me, moderate off the top and smaller crop from left.

You might be able to do some selective sharpening on the bill to give it a bit more definition.

very nice details and great soft light, beak doesn't looks soft to me that's how a coot's beak look like. I am not sure about the composition however, I would also opt for a tighter crop if you are going for a vert headhsot

Robert, when these are are exposed well, they produce great results, as you have here. Their red eyes always stand out. Comp wise, I would take a bit off the top and left, but would also add a bit to the bottom.
