The wind was helping this anhinga dry its feathers after a session in the water at Anhinga Trail one morning. Removed a feather and couple of brown spots from the bill. Adjusted the exposure, boosted the saturation of the eye, slight shadows adjustment in shadows/highlights, cropped and sharpened. Any C&C appreciated.

Mike:

The punk hair do is great. Well exposed with pretty good detail in the blacks and whites holding well.

I like the overall feel of the BG, and like the very gentle pattern effect in most of the image. I would consider smoothing the transition of the edges of the more distinct band running up to the bill. Wouldn't take much at all.

Wish the head was just a sliver more towards us.

Cheers

A really eye catching image, I love the ruffled feathers and the facial details. The background really sets the image off.

Love the blown feathers quite different from the wet seal like appearance. Nice angle and exposure too.

Randy stole the words right out of my mouth!! Nice composition.

Even with such a low ISO 1/160s. seems like a slow SS for what looks like good light. Typo?

A very astute observation, Daniel. The image was badly overexposed. In converting from raw, I adjusted exposure -1.45. So, the correct shutter speed at ISO 200 would have been closer to 1/500!
