Hi Chris, you seem to have pet LBR's. :w3 Great catch for both of you, and you could even enter the preying mantis into the macro section. Very well timed and captured.

Hi Chris,
This image is so cool but...I wish the bug was between his upper and lower mandible. The praying mantis looks like it has been blown backyard hitting the beak. I realize the LBR was flipping the bug but it still looks weird to me. I would love the see the next shot in the sequence because the BG and exp and techs are excellent,

GReat light, colours, sharpness and what a beautiful Praying Mantis! I agree with Gail regarding the placement of the bug though.

Remarkably good shot, like others I agree that it look a little odd with the Mantis not apparently within the beak, but I really do not mind at all. Magical moment captured beautifully:cheers::cheers:

Great moment captured. First reaction was: great bird, colors, detail. Second reaction: how's the LBR holding on to the PM? Still, it's an awesome shot. Did you use flash?

Amazing colors and great detail. How is that mantis staying there? It doesn't look like it is in the mouth.

Thanks for all the comments is much appreciated, he tossed the mantis and missed the catch this is a shot as it passed the beak. Bill no I did not use a flash.

Chris,

Thanks for the info, I am not surprised he dropped it, the question is did he get it back?
