This is a Migrating eurasian Cuckoo, they are very shy birds and even a cracking of a twig sets them off. I had to use all the possible patience in me to finally make a portrait of this beautiful female sunning at Sunrise.

Cropped from vertical.

Spec: 1/3200, F 7.1, ISO 800, -1/3

Mk4+500mm+1.4TC

Regards,

Kiran.

Brilliant image guru of this hepatic female and am sure this is the best ever photographed from INDIA.

This such a beauty bhai. Clean perch and BG for these guys is something unthinkable. I know where to find them but don't know how to get such a clean shot :-(

Kiran, a rare non raptor shot from you. Absolutely loved this one. the BG, details, head turn, IQ, light, pose....all those feathers...great job.

My personal preference would be a tad more room above.

Love the pose - typical dropped wing pose of a Cuckoo. Look back pose is nice - great detail.

Excellent look back pose with great eye contact. Love the bg, the light and the slanted perch.
Your patience was well rewarded. Did you use a hide?
Just fantastic, Kiran.
