IMHO, the most magnificent antelope in Africa, this male Sable poses in rather harsh light near Kennedy 2 waterhole, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, 2nd September 2011

The light angle gives the fur good definition and accentuates the details. Even though it is strong and direct, I don't feel it hurts the image here as all the deep shadows are out of view. Details in the face are revealed well at this angle. Looks like an oxpecker in the back of the antelope.

I agree Ken, this is a beautiful animal.

That is a nice looking animal Ken. Great markings, impressive horns, and nice rich brown color. You did an excellent job handling the bright light, both dark and light fur seems to have detail.

Lovely to see and although I am not using a decent monitor, looks very good to me. I will have to get nosy about your trip to Zimbabwe soon if you keep on producing stuff like this.

Hi Ken,
I Agree with Robert, and Steve. Nice job on holding details, and keeping the shadows at bay. You have certainly captured the sleek look of this beautiful antelope. TFS
