I'm happy to announce some recent changes to BPN's Forum Guidelines, Member Benefits and Staff.
First, the changes made to our Forum Guidelines.

#10 Administrators and Moderators are entrusted with the ability and responsibility of removing objectionable and/or off topic posts. A warning may be sent to the offending party or parties involved. If the rule violations are severe, or if they continue after a warning, a user's privileges to access BPN can be terminated without notice.

#13Private Messaging is for personal use only - using it as a mass-marketing tool is forbidden. All forum rules apply to Private Messaging including but not limited to- not harassing, agitating, showing hostility towards or being persistently unpleasant or argumentative to another user or Staff Member.

#15 Members nor Users will be permitted to restrict or inhibit any other member or user from using and enjoying the forum by harassing, intentionally agitating, showing hostility towards or being persistently unpleasant or argumentative. If BPN Administrators or Moderators determine that a user has violated this rule, a warning may be sent to the offending party. If the violations are severe, or if they continue after a warning, a user's privileges to access BPN can and will be terminated without notice.

#16 If asked by a BPN Administrator or forum Moderator to cease posting content deemed offensive, objectionable, off topic, or in poor taste by said Administrator forum Moderator, you must agree to do so.

#18 Images should not exceed 250 kilobytes nor should they exceed 1024 pixels on the horizontal side or 800 pixels on the vertical side.

In addition to clarifying our guidelines we have added two new forum features.

All BPN users can avail themselves with the new "Thank You" feature.
Have you ever waded through a 60 reply thread with 10 or 15 of the replies "Thank You"?
Several forums delete what they consider excessive "thank you" posts. This modification is an easy way to show appreciation and will keep threads concise and on point.
You can use the the "Thank You" feature on any post, not just posts you started. Of course if you feel a "thank you" reply is more appropriate, please feel free to do so.
"Thank You" given and received can be viewed on your user profile page.

Staff and Member Showcase
BPN Staff and Members are welcome to post one image every 48 hours in our new "Staff and Member Showcase" forum.
This forum has been designed to give our members an additional opportunity to showcase their photography. I say "showcase" because it is not a critique forum, as a matter of fact it's a no comment forum. You may post any image that is allowed on BPN. It's OK to post an image in the "Staff and Member Showcase" forum that you have posted somewhere else on BPN.
Go ahead - showoff:S3:.

In addition to the changes noted above, we have a few staff changes I'd like to announce.

Please welcome Marina Scarr and congratulate Morkel Erasmus and Daniel Cadieux.
Marina has agreed to moderate our Florida Regional Forum. With Marina's photographic skills, regional knowledge and opinions she is sure to be an excellent(like all of our staff) addition to the BPN staff.

Morkel is the father of a beautiful little girl and a pretty dang good photographer. What does Morkel being the father of a beautiful little girl have to do with it - nothing, but look in Family and Friends-you'll agree. Morkel has been doing a bang up jog as a Wildlife Moderator for us so I was excited when he volunteered to moderate our Landscape forum as well.

Daniel has been with us since day one (his join date 01-01-2008:w3)serving as an Avian moderator. Daniel is an outstanding example of a BPN staff member.
Based on seniority and performance Danial has been appointed to and accepted the positions of "Super Moderator" and IOTW Supervisor.

As always these changes have been made in an effort to make BPN the fun place to teach and learn nature photography.

Thanks,
James
