I've seen a number of full Moon images posted here.I had the chance last night to give it a go.

1d MK4, 500mm + 2x ext (1000mm), 1/100 @ 8, ISO 320, tripod mounted, Manual mode.

Thanks Tom

Hi Tom.

Looks like a good capture. My first reaction was the moon is upside down!:w3 But then I see from your perspective it is correct. If you would like to show the detail you captured, make the moon fill a crop of 800 x 800 pixels. At 1000 mm and the 1DIV, the moon is about 1500 pixels in diameter, so if you made it fit in 800 pixels, it would be about half size (from your original image). I think the image needs a little contrast boost too.

Thanks Roger - How many perspectives can you have of the moon? I guess it depends were you are in the world. I will try your suggestions. Thanks.

Tom,

Try some local contrast enhancement to bring out the details. USM on BG copy at
