I was photographing this young Forster's just the parent brought in a lunch. My best
action shot of the week (first week of October) at Malheur. Fabulous place to visit.

Oct. 3, 2011 Canon 40D 400mm f5.6L 1/1250s f10 Eval. metering - minor crop; minor sharpening and lightening of catchlights.

Great work Terry. Getting both birds on plane was the key to this one. The fish adds a lot.

I like the begging pose of the young bird and its plumage.Getting both in focus certainly makes the image. I may try a different crop taking some off the bottom. That fish is going strait down the hatch.

I'd try a version with about 60% of the perch cropped from the bottom, but all else looks great. Nice behaviour of the food exchage. You need luck to get the fish with the head side pointing towards us rather than the tail...not to be this time!:S3:

I have tried for this behavior many times , and never got one this good. Nice job on the re-post. It works well.

Great shot, Love the interaction displayed and the fact both birds are sharp and on plane. Colrs and processing looks great, a fine job. Congrats!
