Carl:

What a round little head he has!

Very soft background, interesting perch, well exposed, nice pose.

Well done. I could see a version with a bit cropped off the right, but very nice as presented.

Cheers

very well done. colors, exp, pose, composition, perch, BG...superb. the OOF vegetation gives some depth.

Head looks a bit soft...probably some motion blur at that SS. If me, I'd be shooting this at higher ISO to to get better SS.

What a beautiful bird. Kind of reminds me of one of our Blue Jays that never grew up.:bg3: But they do not have any yellow. Agree with the head being a little soft, otherwise nice background and great pose.

I like the colours and the detail that you have captured here on this lovely little bird. At 1/50 second you have done remarkably well considering how mobile they are! Very well done.

All valid comments. I would love to see this a a vertical. Color and BG make this a keeper.

Great pose. So many birds have interesting backs, it is nice to see it full on. Having the BG stem mostly aligned with the FG one is a plus, adds depth without distraction.

Beautiful looking bird, and nicely captured and composed, Carel! Agree head is just a bit soft, but still very nice work!

I like the soft colors, pose and the detail in this photo. Amazingly sharp for such a low shutter speed and considering the fact that this species is constantly moving. This is a very nice photo but I would suggest that you use higher ISO setting in situations like this in order to increase your keeper rate. TFS

Lovely composition... Loved the BG. Head looks a bit soft to me with that SS...

I definitely agree and highly recommend raising the ISO in a case like this. Although you got a good result here, you would be putting chances on your side alot more with higher SSs with these figity little birds.

Great colours, excellent BG, and lovely perch. The pose is very nice too.

Hi Everybody.
The low iso was accidentally so low.
iIt was sunny in the afternoon and had very low iso.
Meanwhile it was 17:00 and the light had already become much disappeared.
forget to turn up the iso, and then this bird for your lens, you will be too late.
Thank you all for the comments.

Hi a nice image but I find the colour to be to blue on the whites.
