Another case of being 'on the wrong side of the light' in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Check out my latest blog post HERE (http://saffascapes.blogspot.com/2011/10/shooting-against-light.html) about these conditions.
The late afternoon sun was behind the cheetah to the LHS.

A family of 5 cheetahs were devouring a springbok lamb right next to our vehicle.

I can't wait to return in 2 weeks! :bg3:

Morkel,

Given the conditions tis is a pretty good result, you have got to love the hind leg positiom.

The head looks a tad oversharpened to me, a pity you could not get more open eyes but lets face it they usually close their eyes whilst munching, need some sound for this one.

Nice viewpoint...Different to anything we normally see.

Mork, I like how the cheetah is lying diagonally across the image, and a good show of the bloodied head. Im still waiting for my first cheetah image. :w3

Nice composition Morkel. I like the diagonal placement of the cat across the frame, the backside view of the interesting leg position, and the look back view of the gnawing head. Also like the little clump of grasses behind the head.
