This was taken a couple of days ago at a local conservation area. Not too many birds coming through lately. I added the border to seperate the image from the BG. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Jim:

Nice look back pose, sharp. Good idea to use the border, otherwise it just blends in.

I am guessing this is a first year male because of the orange trimming on the shoulders. Not certain of this though.

Cheers

Yes to a (very beautiful) first year male. Love the nice d-o-f to go with the over-the-shoulder pose and the pretty much perfect head angle (for this pose). The only thing that bugs me is the merge of the single twig with the tail. An easy fix should one so desire. TFS.

Jim, excellent exposure and sharpness, and I do like the pose. The reds stand out nicely against both the blacks and the lighter BG. Super Comp.

Nice high-key image, and I especially like that the far epaulette is visible. I also like the slightly ruffled feathers along the back of the head. Great plumage on this young fella!

Wonderful image. Exposed very very well, detail is superb, great perch, and high key look is terriffic.
Well done.
