I took this image on a late summers afternoon with the lioness lit from the side and slightly from behind. This image is similar to what Hilary posted some time back.
Camera details:
Canon EOS 1 DS MarkII
Canon EF 500mm f4
S/S: 1/50
ISO: 200
Aperture: f4
Any comments and solutions welcome.

Lovely portrait Mark with a great oof bg, just 2 small issues easily fixed, i find the image a little bright and a bit heavy on the sharpening but like i said easily fixed:w3

Thanks for the comments Brendon,
It will not be a problem to fix.
With many thanks,
Mark.

I like the light and the loverly lady. Agree that a bit darker overall and a bit less sharpening would be ideal.

Mark,

For me Brendon has hit the nail on the fead a few tweaks and this will be a very fine portrait.

Whilst this may look similar to Hilary's post in that it is a Lioness, you have what is IMHO the essential factor in a portrait "eyes" that you can see fully.:cheers:

Mark - nice portrait. I agree with Brendon on both counts too.

Hi all,
Thank you for the help. This is a repost with a change in curves and slightly less sharpening.
Any comments welcome.

Hard to see a difference in the sharpening. What did you do in Curves? I like the less saturated ears and the more open look in the first image. I guess that it is a case of be careful what you wish for :S3:.

Mark,

The repost is to my eyes at least less sharp, I have just played around in levels but cannot seem to get what I think is there, using the JPEG does not really help.

I am convinced that there must be a great image in the RAW
