I kind of like the funky looking water pattern on this one.
Thanks for looking.

Karl:

It is striking water, nice duck too. For my tastes, the brightness of the water overpowers the duck a bit.

I ran a multiply layer on the high lights at 49%. More than I normally use, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't too subtle to see on the web. Lots of room for tweaking.

I might also consider a small crop from top.

Cheers

Randy

Thanks Randy taking the time to modify the picture. I'm torn between the two. Maybe a bit less darkening would have worked better.

Good low perspective Karl, and a duck I havent seen before. The water certainly is striking with regards to colour and exposure, and although it is personal choice, as you were there, I do feel Randy has got it right. Another vote for taking some off the top.

I like the low angle and the sharpness. I'm with Randy regarding the brightness of the water overpowering the duck just a bit. The whites do need some toning down; I'm sure you can find a happy medium between your version and Randy's.

I too feel the water is a bit bright. like the re-worked image better. Great low angle and exposure on the duck.

Karl, I like Randy's repost. in your post, the contrast also seems a bit high. If mine, I'd always do some work on reducing the catchlight.
