I'm so excited to come across this file. The images have some amazing colors and reflections this one being more subtle but I do love the color palette. I decided to crop nice and tight for more intimate impact. Tierra verde FL last November

Canon 7D 300mm 2.8L w2x
ISO 400 f8@1/500
Sharpening slight NR and 40%crop.

C&C highly appreciated Thanks.

Cheryl,
A very nice image with a pleasing and intimate pose and stunning water color. The 300 really shined here as it carried you Dof perfectly, Congrats on a beautiful image!!! I wonder how a smidge off the bottom might present? The contrast might be a tad strong but thats personal taste. Great job!.

Great metallic water, Cheryl. I agree with Dan's suggestion on removing a little from below and maybe adding above if available.

Also like the water color and the composition, in my monitor (its not calibrated) seems that needs a little less contrast.

Beautiful setting here, Cheryl. The colorful water really makes this image pop.

Cheryl, good preening behaviour, and I like the different browns on the duck. The texture of the water really stands out, so many patterns to look at, and I would still take a lot more off the bottom. ( halfway between the bottom of the frame, and the bottom of the duck :w3 )

Gorgeous water and a cute pose. I like the crop suggestions above. I might sharpen the bird a little more.

Cheryl,

A beautiful shot. Congrats on getting to the right place at the right time--it's as much about the water as it is about the duck. I love the pose, and the way that the eye really pops against the lighter feathers that surround it. I also prefer the version with a bit cropped off the bottom edge.
