Hi all . This is an image I captured and not often using great processing methods and filters I tried this with Nik Color Efex 4 with a contrast layer and extract detail layer. Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated.I will post unedited image for opinions also. Also only minor ps workflow in LR and sharpened in CS 5 - Canon 5 d MK 2 , On Tripod , F16 . ISO 100 1/30th , 16-35 F2.8 @ 16 mm and lee soft grad 0.6.

Andrew - I really like the effect on the clouds/sky. I might tone down the brightness of the rocks just a tad. Interesting to see the before and after.

Rachel

Hi Andrew, nice comp and I really like the cloud formations. I love the 'extract detail' effect on the rocks, but wonder if it is a bit heavy on the clouds. I'd love to see a version with the effect reduced by half on the clouds. I think the clouds have a wind blown look to them here which I love and the 'extract detail' is taking that look away a little too much, but that's just me. :S3:

Great perspective. I like the original post a lot. The editing you did really makes the image pop. I can understand why some will think it over the top, but to my eye it conveys a strong feeling and is not unnatural.

I agree with the above Andrew. I think that the shutter speed was just right for the cloud blur and the detail extraction was perfect for this subject.

I like the pano presentation and the details you extracted in processing, Andrew.
I think the Nik filters just robbed you of some blue in the sky, turning it a bit 'greyer' than the out-of-camera shot? Easy to fix if you so wish...:w3

Was this taken at Augrabies Falls National Park?
