These beauties are back at my place and got a chance to photograph them this morning. Came back with only three images as my car got stuck in slush and had to call a rescue vehicle to pull it out.

Canon 7D, Canon 500mm f4+1.4x TC, ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/1600 Sec

We get the American Kestrel in my neck of the woods, but I can't ever get close to them. Like the take-off pose and sharp eye. A slight head turn towards us would have been nice. I see that you have a tendency to shoot ISO 200; I prefer 400, even with the 7D, because the extra stop of light can really help your image quality (either with DOF or SS).

Girish bhai,

Beautiful image and superb wing .. liked the inclusion of the tiny sand stones leaving behind giving nice feel.
Doug Said well at iso 200 i feel you really did jam of a freez but yes giving it shot at min 400 as i said before would have given you much better freeze.

Just try it as you have learned many things on Processing it should not be a hassle.

I really like the pose and eye contact alot as well as the great look at the talons. I am a little distracted by the vertical lines beneath the tail.
