Captured in bright daylight but transformed with lots of filter steps. Topaz DeNoise, Detail, and Adjust. Lighting effects in CS5 as well as levels and curves. Some hue/saturation as well.

Getting into the Halloween mood!

Hi Kerry, love the detail in the spider and the way it is glowing. Also love how you included the spiders latest catch in the lower right. Nice work!

Kerry,

Greetings. I like it! Great color & comp. Might lighten the left eye a tad (w/ yellow or orange) ... Good show!

Cheers,

I love the spider and the "spot lighting" around him. Not so sure about the catch of the day being in the image...it's so diffuse it feels muddled to me. I really like your composition and choice of crop, though.

Jules, I understand your point - in fact that is the point. The spider is eerily lit and detailed, while the catch is dead, lifeless, and only lit by the pale moonlight. At least, that's how it is in what's left of my brain! :Whoa!:

Nice one Kerry. I like the way the attention goes right to the spider. Very cool effect!

Kerry, this is so "Nightmare Before Christmas" like..I expect Jack to appear over the horizon any moment. If it were mine, I'd brighten today's meal just a smidge...with that same eerie blue white tone...just thinking out loud. Nice capture!
