I've been processing old files from 2009. This one shot in a local field Trinity Florida
Canon 40D 300mm 2.8L IS lens w2x
ISO200 f9@1/320 tipod
Not much done here but little cleanup,contrast
NR and sharpening

nice pose and display of environment, the bokeh is a bit harsh did you try burning the shiny weeds in the BG?

Wish one day i would be able to see the chick of largest bird on our part.

Hey Arash, You mean the weeds on the ground by the bird or far bg?

Cheryl, difficult situation to create good bokeh. Very nice head turn and details. When BG is that close to the subject, I prefer shooting wider. DOF probably would not have been adequate as the bird has his tail end towards you. toughie.

Hi Cheryl, I'm with you, I like the background in this one. I think it gives us a sense of the chick's environment. I love the chick's head position. Nice work!

I don't mind the distant background but the foreground mess is an image wrecker for me. EXP and SH good. Nicely framed. The bird looks a tad over-sharpened, over-contrasty....

Thanks Art I went back to the start and just tweeked the contrast a tad and sharpened lightly. My mistake was sharpening after resizing the OP. Yes a bit busy and the low angle kinda worked against me.
