I am not an advocate of using spotlights on animals at night but at my new place of work they use spotlights so what we do is bounce the light of the ground rather than directly in there eyes...Crits appreciated:S3:

Nicely done Dumay, good use of DOF and ISO. Might just reduce the exposure a tad on her central neck area.

Agree 100%, plus it makes for nicer images given that one uses recent high ISO DSLR's :w3

Hi Dumay,
I like your idea of the lighting at night. I agree on the interference and I like the detail and composition. I agree with Mark with regards to the whites of the neck area.
Thanks for sharing and good luck with the sightings. You are in a fortunate position.
Mark.

Great looking lioness, Dumay, and nice capture. That does seem like a more humane way to light them.

Hi Dumay

lovely image.. the exposure on neck as been mentioned.. the other point I would like to mention is the OOF leg in BKG .. draws the viewers eyes...not a lot you can really do about it...maybe darkening a tad might help..

Dumay - good suggestions above. The eye looks great. Curious as to whether you used a flash in addition to bouncing the spot or just the spot.

Rachel

Nice. I like the transition of light from neck to BG.

Nice lighting technique, Dumay...hot spots noted. Nice and sharp where it matters.
I'm sure you'll have many more to show us over the coming months :tinysmile_shy_t:
