I know the usual images are of the full breeding plumage adult males, but I think this one is interesting.
The light was rough at the time of day we were out, but one makes do.
One makes do with the light one has.
EDIT: For some reason, I couldn't add the image to the original post :( heeelllllppppp!

I think I remember where this is. I like the setting, BG, pose and raised foot. The whites are on the hotter side, though ;)

Yes they are, and I even did some work on them :(
I can still hear the Hogs rumbling :D

A nice pose and good colors, Jim. I might consider cloning some of the stems that touch the raised foot and maybe crop some of the dark area from the bottom.

Very nice pose Jim, Did you bribe the poor little guy into doing that? :D
Love your composition, nice colors...

A quick exposure adjustment layer would easily take care of the shadow. You also have a dust spot over the bird. I appreciate that you have a different plumage than is normally photographed.

Nice to see a Juvi here, Jim. Maybe the whites are a tad bit hot but just that tiny spot on the neck is all I can see. Nice pose too.

Thanks everyone.
Ugh, I knew about that dust spot, but forgot to kill it. :(
