Hi Grahame. I like the comp and your light subject works well with the black background. You have good sharpness on the back layer of seeds, but for my tastes, I'd like to see more DOF as I find the OOF elements in the foreground to be distracting. Because the background is black, you wouldn't be bringing out detail there by shooting at f/16 or f/22. Another option might have been to pluck out the foreground seeds before taking the photo to simplify the comp and reduce the need for extended DOF. :S3:

Grahame, I agree with Steve about the FG being to OOF. You could also try some of the different "stacking" software where you take the FG into focus and then the BG and merge the two. Otherwise, I agree that it's more important to have that front area in focus than the back...but I still really appreciate that you went for a different perspective and I like that part of the dandelion is missing.
