This was shot around 10 in the morning as I was getting ready to leave Anna Maria Island. It was taken on the pier, light was pretty harsh. I did slight NR on BG, slight USM on the heron and +5 Saturation with H&S.

Canon 7D, 100-400L IS, f/6.3, 1/640sec., ISO 100, +.3EV, focal length 400mm, tripod.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.:S3:

Cheryl,

I like it as presented. Nice control of the frame, subject placement and muted background. Clear well lit eye and regal pose. Thanks for sharing, nice work for hash light.

Nicely done Cheryl, toughing it out in the harsh light is never easy! I like the pose and head angle, eye contact is always a plus for me. You could go a little farther with the sharpening, but otherwise a nice image all around. Hope this guy isn't prone to getting a sore throat, that's a lot of neck! :c3:

I like this one too Cheryl. I'm a big fan of portraits which show so much of the detail that we miss when we are farther back. I think the image would benefit from a small boost in colour saturation.
