One of my favorite subjects, very nicely done. Great IQ and near perfect exposure. Did you use MUP on this, or rely on IS to dampen vibration? I love it.

Thanks Rod...I took it from the window of my vehicle on a bean bag with IS on...Excuse my ignorance what is MUP?

Sorry, MUP is Mirror Up to reduce vibration. Slaps the mirror on first shutter press, then releases the shutter on the second. Don't know if the 50D has it, but you wouldn't use it with a bean bag anyway. When I see that clean an image of the moon, I'm always curious how it was done. I'll have to give the bean bag a try.

Dumay,
I agree, nice capture. I assume this is full frame?

Regarding mirror lockup, yes one can use it with a beanbag (I do) or a tripod, or even hand held, At 1/100 second, the mirror bounce can impact image quality, but IS will try to compensate. For a relatively static subject like this, I'll use mirror lockup with 2-second delay so I only press the shutter once, then wait for the shutter to open 2 seconds later.

Ditto MLU / 2s delay.
