Love the stance and great light...Looks like some pigmentation in the left (Lions right)..Would be interesting to see a tight crop of the face to see the eye, if possible!

Dumay,

Could you explain what you mean by, pigmentation.

With regard to the eye, there is a dark mark in there

Here is a crop, not very good quality where you can see it better

The almost mono-color, orange-brown, of the whole image doesn't work for me.

Hey Ken my understanding (not sure if pigmentation is the correct term) but dark pigment cells get trapped in the iris creating an almost marbled affect. This doesn't mean the eye is damaged it just looks different. Happens in people as well when they have eg, when they have blue eyes and have a brown patch in the iris. Thanks for posting the close up.

Dumay,

Thanks for answering my question, I understand it now.

Lovely light and specimen here. Interesting eye indeed!
If one desires a greater "degree of separation" between the BG and subject, it's always an option to selectively tone down the yellow on the BG a bit using saturation or selective colour. :t3

Morkel,

Thanks for that, but I am ok with the separation, as the colours here represent what I saw.
