Captured this image at Rocky Mountain National Park Saturday. Like to get these down-and-dirty bugling images. Thanks for looking.

Dan, very intense expression captured with those bulging eyes, looks like he means business! Wonder if tighter crop in to face and head would work as another solution.

Thanks for the comments and crop suggestion. Thought I would try Brendan's crop suggestion.

I like both crops, but love the expression and the effort going into the bugling. Not having seen these animals (at least not since my childhood) I can't comment on colour but he is an interesting shade of brown and not what I expected. Very handsome.

Hi Dan, I like the tighter crop. He certainly is giving all his got. Well captured at that SS and TFS.

I have to say I prefer the tighter crop

Dan, I too prefer the RP, but also feel a bit more in Curves to give it a little more 'pop' and another round of sharpening, especially when you compare the two. :w3

The tighter crop does seem to give it more power. Really nice capture!

Dan - I too prefer the tighter crop of the repost. Nice timing on the bugling pose and expression.

I prefer the tighter RP too here, Dan! Agree with Steve it can use just a hint more "oomph".
Looks like he was just hit with a bucket of ice-water "down there" :w3

Repost looks good, Dan! Was elk's fur a bit wet?

Thanks again! He is a little wet. Just crossed a river and telling the other bulls not to follow!

Hoping to get out soon and get me some of these guys. Another vote for the tighter crop, seems more "intentional". Really like the angle, the twisted neck fur, and the touch of yellow in the BG. I'd hit that bulging right eye with a touch of contrast and a little sharpening if mine.
