I have seen antelopes do such things !!! But such a huge animal doing this is amazing !!! Great light , great action !

Hi Ken,
I like your image and like the light, detail and the POV.
This ellie is really wamting to get to those seed pods in the tree and is doing extremely well at it.
It would be nice to get some seperation between the background and the subject, but in this case it is difficult.

Looks like you had a good Zimbabwe safari recently...:bg3:
I love the behaviour captured here, and the composition was well thought out as Chas mentioned. Golden light rounds it off nicely! :tinysmile_shy_t:

I do think a slight darkening of the overall highlights and adding some midtone contrast will take this to even another level...:w3

Zimbabwe was as usual truly spectacular, true wildlife in wild places and you can get out and walk!

Came back to this one Ken.
This looks to be on the riverfront?? We found them in the river mostly in the middle...and in the forests. The seeds weren't out so the "standing" ellies were breaking off huge branches from the Ana trees and feeding from them on the ground.
We only saw that big old bull doing this, and he had 2 younger cohorts who seemed to be "learning the ropes" but couldn't pull it off yet.

I can't wait to return, but want to combine it with Hwange and/or Matusadona and/or Gorongosa!! I've heard Matusadona isn't that great if you camp? I know you stay at Rhino Island?
