One more unusual "exotic" just a few hours before I head off to Costa Rica again until Christmas:S3:

This was taken from the balcony at Cerro Azul which fortunately put me on the same level as this canopy bird. It was raining hard close by at the time, and this was a
new species for me, having searched Southern Costa Rica last year for them.

Richard,

This is truly an awesome capture.

It could go a bit more contrast as looks really washed and flat.
IMO about 1 inch of crop from bottom would be good to eyes as the heavy perch is eating up too much to strong.

Beautiful bird and face with a perfect head angle. Closer would have been better.

Really like your repost, Richard, what a spectacular parrot! Great job for only having 20 seconds to grab this one! I think the soft light served you well though wish sky wasn't quite so dull.

I prefer Pane 5 .. excellent. I think you discover better in #5 about contrast level than #3 :bg3:

Hi Melissa
thanks, yep it was fast; luckily I had set the tripod up when it came along; couldnt believe it as they are not often seen like this at the same level as the viewer
I have a shot of it departing but its record only Im afraid.

My preference is for pane #5. Fantastic colors on this parrot and detail. I would consider some work on the eye when you have the time, to lessen the hazy appearance.
