I was fascinated by these gentle giants right from my childhood . Had seen them once in the Mysore Zoo , but it was not the same . When I saw them at the Mara , it was such a surprise that the Mara dwarfs everything in comparision . When I saw it from far away , it did not look as tall as I had envisioned , but when I got closer , I was left marvelling at the sheer grace this giant exudes.

Impressive specimen here Rakesh!
I find the image overall to be a bit blue/cyan...so I selected the giraffe and grass and did some color balance adjustments on it...your thoughts?

Rakesh, super pose from the big fellow, and he sure is much darker than normal. Mork's adjustment has brought it back. I like the open grass as the BG.

Magnificent old bull, love the oxpeckers on the giraffe.

Like the little bit of grass on the bottom. By including more sky, I think it really emphasizes the size.

Nice comp and pov. I like the oxpeckers too, I think it is the most I have seen on one animal. Morkel's repost improves the color cast but I feel like the grass is a little over exposed. You might be able to recover it from the raw file.

Rachel

I took Morkel's re-post bit further, using PS curves - more blue out and darken

Thanx Morkel and Tom for the effort . Ya , the colour cast removal vastly improves the image . Tom's version is near to what I saw , but would slightly go with a bit more brightness .

The perspective is very good, it emphasizes the size of the Giraffe. I like Tom's version a little better.....
