I created this image today, I'm not crazy about the smeared look to the one petal but I still liked the shot.

Beautiful image, Denise. Like you, I would have liked to have seen a bit more sharpness to the one petal, but the image more than stands alone on its own. Beautiful color, love the sharpness and detail where the stem and bloom meet...and the crossing of the two sepals over the stem is just a wonderful little touch...nicely done! Keep them coming!

I agree with John, Denise...it is a beautiful image! Love the colours, and the softness of the petals. (Not that they're not sharply focused, but that they actually give the appearance of being soft to the touch.) Gives a pure sense of realism. Also love the detail in the stem...thorns and hairs.

Wish it were mine. I love the contrast in focus and color. Don't mind the soft look of the more saturated petal at all, as it just adds interest.

Lovely colors! I like how the sepals cross each other, as well as the little "hairs" on them. The blurred petal you mentioned and the brightness on the left side sepals make this not your strongest image.

Overall this looks pretty darn good to me! You already mentioned the 'smeared' petal but that doesn't bother me too much. If this were mine, I'd consider brightening up the middle and right sepals so they more closely match the brighter one on the left.

I love compostitions totally consisting of the subtle shades of color in nature. My eye started with the sharpness and contrasting green of the stem and then drifted out into the lovely softness of the peach tones. Very nicely done.

Hi Denise. Lots of good comments above so I don't have much to add. I like the diagonal flow of the stem that leads our eye into the frame as well as the sharpness of the sepals, with the rest of the frame filled with color. I don't mind the soft petals at all. This is very well seen and executed! :S3:
